BCD acquires PCD Fire Design

We are excited to announce that as of Monday 11th November, the team at PCD Fire Designs will join BCD Group.
These two companies have a long and successful working relationship having worked together for almost ten years on plenty of landmark buildings throughout New Zealand. The companies have also been founded on the very similar core values and already share a lot of common clients.
The acquisition means that BCD Group will now be able to offer full fire design solutions to their clients and allow for a seamless management of these services into their existing engineering and planning offering.
Peter Dunkin has formally joined BCD Group as their Fire Engineering Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience and practical knowledge. After operating PCD Fire Designs for over 25 years’, Peter said “closing the doors to PCD Fire Designs wasn’t an easy decision, but the opportunity to allow for a succession plan and still be leading my core service within a larger company, is something I am very excited about”.
Blair Currie, Managing Director of BCD Group, saw this as “the next logical step in the evolution of BCD Group. The benefit for clients of having fire engineers working alongside structural engineers as development designs evolve is huge, and all disciplines will benefit greatly from having this resource in house”.
