The Challenge

BCD provided structural design for a $0.75 mil construction on a new fire station in Te Aroha in conjunction with Architects Pacific.  The station was an extension to the existing station.  Constuction challenges came around working closely to the existing foundations.  

A seismic seperation was kept between both buildings at all time during construction to allow for movement during a seismic event and also to minimise punding effects

The Result

Construction was completed in July 2013 on time and on budget.
